Microwave for One

Nov 25 2008

Behold my latest kitchen gadget – the Egg Steamer Mini Ceramic Soup Bowl. Thanks to this cutie, I made my first quiche today. I used an egg, a big mushroom and some shredded cheese. There was something missing though – milk. So the end result was a little dry but I’m looking forward to more experiments.

And yes, it’s all cooked with the microwave oven. It must be the greatest invention ever! Hardly takes long to cook or heat up food. And when you are cooking for one, it’s not worth slaving over a stove top and spending all that time preparing a gourmet cuisine.

Eating out all the time is not really healthy either – you never know if they are using good quality ingredients or if their cooking oil has been recycled to death (for fried stuff).

So if you know of any proven microwave cooking recipes for one, drop me a word.

  1. Please forgive my going off-topic but I want to pay you a compliment.

I was watching “Bizarre Foods” and the host Andrew Zimmern had as his guide in Thailand a woman named Nana Chen who is a globe hopping food photog whose work has sold wolrdwide.

Every time I see this episode I think of you because your food pictures are WAY better than what they show of hers. In fact, yours are some of the best I’ve seen anywhere!

Remind me to tell you about the full set of Corningware I found BRAND NEW at a flea market for 10 dollars. :)
