Yesterday a long-time friend BC became a father for the first time. The cutie pie featured above is his. She is so expressive! Her facial expressions would change every two seconds or so.
I’ve known BC for a very long time. Come to think of it, we’ve been present at each other’s pivotal moments in life. I remember us clowning around the stage garbed in our graduation gowns and caps. Being present at his wedding. And now rejoicing at the birth of his baby girl. We’re also colleagues, by the way.
We’re not terribly close but it’s nice to have a long-time buddy like that. Someone who’s been there at the many transitions in your life. And who knows what you looked like when you still had braces.
I also couldn’t help recalling that it was just last week that my friend Peng was buried. And this week, BC’s baby is born. New life juxtaposed with death. Such is the circle of life.
