Hot updates fresh from the paparazzi!
Apparently, the now famous Wedding Beetle was spotted on the highways of KL at noon on the day of the wedding. Reliable sources confirmed that this was indeed Eric and Li Ping.
Li Ping’s Wedding Beetle (as Merv puts it)
Eric and Li Ping – my two favourite rant buddies – finally got hitched after about 6 years of courtship. They are an amazing couple – the complete polar opposites of each other and yet because of their enduring love, they managed to overcome the odds to get to the point of saying ‘I do’.
I’ve been very privileged to be invited into their lives not too long ago. In that short space of time, we graduated quickly to become close buddies. Through them I learned that three’s a company. They’ve never made me feel like a lamp post in any of our outings. We have shared many rant and sharing sessions, working, shopping, praying, eating together and learned many things from each other.
I am greatly encouraged by their commitment to stick to each other through thick and thin. To put their hands to build a growing business together. And most of all, to open their lives so that it may bless the countless others whom they cross paths with.
The Ceremony @ St. Peter’s Anglican Church
Pink was the theme of the day. Truly representative of the bride – sweet, demure and feminine. Every one of the bridesmaid, MC, translator and even the groom wore pink.

The Groom in Pink
Choon and I greeted a gorgeous-looking Li Ping waiting at the small room outside the church entrance. She was calm and beaming in radiance. We then saw a nervous-looking Eric inside the church and greeted him with a hug. It was his big day! I felt a surge of happiness and pride gushed through me. My good ol’ buddy ol’ pal was getting hitched! And I’m going to witness his transition from a computer game-loving boy to a man of one wonderful wife. What an honour!
Pastor Jennifer officiated the ceremony. It was her first time, too. The church was very impressive with its lovely stained glass and classic decor. So impressive that the wedding guests were stunned into silence. You could literally hear a pin drop. And that added to poor Eric’s nervousness. Pastor Jennifer invited all of us to give the groom and the bride a round of applause to ease the tension of the whole place. After that, the ice was melted and the atmosphere became cosy and nice.
Pastor Jennifer knew there were a few jokers in the crowd who might pull a prank when this infamous question was asked: “If there is any reason why this man and this woman should not be joined together in holy matrimony, speak up now or forever hold your peace.” So she cautioned us not to add to the groom’s distress before asking the question solemnly. We looked around the church furtively and when no one spoke up, we could see Eric breathe out visibly in relief. Heh heh.
The Dinner @ Bangsar Seafood Garden
It was not surprising that their wedding dinner turned out to be a blast. Most of their friends have some facets of their character. Mainly of the wacky kind – with the exception of the person who’s blogging this, of course. Folks on Table 15 (my table) roared with laughter every few minutes or so once the table was filled. The food was great and I had a gorgeous and talented dude by my side. What a treat!
Liang and I just chillin’
You would have thought that my friends would have allowed this blogger to take her photos of foodies in peace. But no, look at all those disgustingly dirty chopsticks waiting to sink into the yummy dessert. Evil friends I have. Hmmmph!
I dedicate this to Ivan and Ken who mercilessly teased my blog during the dinner. See the resemblance? :P
And this must be my favourite pic of the night.
I hereby declare that thou art my slaves. Muahahaha
Or maybe it’s this one. Well, whichever it is, I just wanna wish my two cool buddies a wonderful and happy married life together. The journey has just begun!

A special note of appreciation to my dearest bezzie for her magic touch upon my normally plain self. What would I do without you? *Hugs*
