Audition

Just came back from an audition for the August rally organised by DUMC. It’s sort of revolves around The King of Rock.

Am actually trying out for some small part – something bite-sized, juicy and easy to do. But Chris, the playwright and director asked us to act out all the parts written for our gender. So, we took on all the roles with gusto lah.

And man, did I enjoy myself! Not only did I get to play the ladies’ roles, I got to act out the guys’ parts as well.

See, while we were waiting for our turn downstairs at the church foyer, one leng chai (cute guy) wanted to practice the scene where he talks with his best buddy. And seeing that I had completed the first part of my audition, he kinda asked for assistance from a ‘seasoned’ actor *ahem*

As I rehearsed with him and got into the Ah Beng-ish hero character (I love interpreting Chinese dudes characters as Ah Bengs), I felt like in my element. If only I had the chance to portray that kinda character on stage, that would be so cool! Methinks portraying a character that is so not you in real-life is what makes acting FUN :)

After my part of the audition ended, I headed home feeling so rejuvenated. Even if I don’t get a role (aiyooo, director, please gimme an itsy bitsy role, pretty, pretty please?), the fun I had tonight shall sustain me until we start shooting the Forgiven video in Oct.

*satisfied sigh*

“Flengs” is something CC came up with.. he he .. right? in the light of her article.

anyways.. relationships are not an easy call… who knows the maturity of the mind and the heart of any one person. A person could be a 25 year old trapped in a 14 year old body.. but.. wisdom should prevail.

My parents were of the opinion … “No relationships until you start earning your own moo-lah”.. then you’ll be a responsible steward of what you earn and you will learn how to steward what God has given you.. including that partner..

This is of course spoken in the context of a Christian home.. however, with great moo-lah comes great responsibility..

You can see in this day and age.. lotsa kidos have lotsa moo-lah.. but are irresponsible quite likely because they don’t earn it..

I strongly believe it’s the values and virtues that parents plant into their children are important.. and to be backed up with reasoning. (calls for wisdom)..

    haiyar.. cheong hei again… :p
