There is a difference between naturally dark and tanned. A sun-tanned skin is a damaged skin. I like to be tanned too, which I once was. But the thought of melanoma and other signs of premature aging caused by tanning gives me the shivers. Now, I just accept whatever shade I am and hope that the indulgence of my past does not catch up with me.
